Well im currently working on the manticore sprite for the next combat demo which will show off each race's strengths / weakness's

Earth pony = Melee Based with a few ranged = this will be done with applejack
Pegasus = Ranged based with a few melee = this will be done with rainbow dash
Unicorn = Magic attack/healing basic with only basic melee = this will be done with twilight

Description: the pegasi furiously flaps its wings send loose feathers and and violent waves of wind flying towards its opponents.

Name: Time Freeze (If Twilight Sparkle can learn this at a later level when more magic is available to her then it would be better if not then unicorns would use it)

Status Effect: Temporarily stops enemy movement for a short while.
Description of skill/spell animation: Time distortion waves ripple out from the caster when first used. Then causes a distortion field around the target it comes in contact with thus locking the target in place. If the user gets attacked during the casting then the move is interrupted but no magic depleted allowing for another try at the spell.

Name: Unite (any pony, can be started only with uni)

Cast-time: 10 - 7 - 4 - 1 seconds (or tweaked down for balance)
Cool-down: 5 for the first caster, 2 for all the others
Damage: 20 x number of casters
Heal: 10 x number of casters (in total)
Damage area: depends on number, from one-enemy to massive.
Heal area: every pony engaged
Range: whole field
Status Effect:
Description of skill/spell animation: pony, casting, stops attacking, starting to emit shine, which then gets linked to next pony in the chain, shining stronger as the cast time goes. other ponies will need to protect the caster, joining soon enough to prepare before casters' 10 seconds go and the spell strikes.

Heal area: High (Bored of putting High. I'm High! =3)
Range: Allies around you / near you. Like a large cirle.
Status Effect: None
Description of skill/spell animation: A powerful spell that gives up some of your health to blow back enemies and heal teamates at the same time. (Unicorn lowers horn to ground and holds for two seconds as it glows, then rises it and makes a large circle. Enemies inside it take a good point of damage and heals teamates by perphaps 75-125 HP?)

Cast-time: 0, lasts for 5 seconds.
Cool-down: 10 seconds
Damage: Meduim, perphas 10-30?

Damage area: Low

Range: Mouse.
Status Effect: Knockback or None.
Description of skill/spell animation: Blinding rush at your oppents for a short time. (Pony begins charing around, following the mousic cursor across the sceen. If it goes somewhere the pony can't, it cuts the run or they blindlessly run into the wall or something.)

Name: Fog (Pegaus)
Magic/energy cost: 20
Cast-time: 5 seconds.
Cool-down: 20 seconds
Damage: Low or High.
Heal: None
Damage area: Target
Heal area: None
Range: None
Status Effect: Sightless
Description of skill/spell animation: Bring down a heavy fog apon an enemy. (Pegasus flies up in 2 seconds, stays offsceen for 1, then brings a cloud down on the enemy. I personal love this skill, as the enemy has a 50/50 chance of hitting himself. If they use a powerful attack, they have a chance of hitting themself with that move. Damage goes from that moves full strength to it's half value.
